COMING PROJECTS

There are plans currently underway to open new Inspectorate(s) at Bolgatanga and / or Tamale to take care of the new gold deposits being explored in parts of Brong Ahafo Region, Upper East and Upper West Regions.

Presently, inspecting of all mining and mining-related activities in the afore-mentioned Regions is the responsibility of the Accra Inspectorate (or Head Office)

MECHANICAL LABORATORY

The laboratory is able to carry out both destructive and non-destructive tests on winding ropes and pieces of mine equipments. Pressure vessel tests as well as crack detection tests can be carried out.

THE STATUS OF ENVIRONMENTAL, CHEMICAL AND FIRE ASSAY LABORATORIES.

ENVIRONMENTAL LABORATORY

This can be used to do ambient air and water analysis. Some of the parameters for ambient air are dust, Hydrocarbons, NOx etc, while the parameters for water are physical, chemical, and some microbiological tests.

CHEMICAL LABORATORY

Equipment acquired so far include:

• Two Analytical Balance (Top Pan)

• Two Analytical Balances (sliding Door)

• Two each of Eight (8) Dispensers (10ml, 30ml, 50ml, and 100ml).

FIRE ASSAY

Plans are far advanced for the reactivation of this Laboratory.
